This feature would allow you to create forms with multiple stages. Initiation of subsequent stages could be triggered by flows or a button inserted into a web page, or email.
Use Case:
Stage 1.
A business wants to check a customer in for a service.
Stage 2.
At the end of the service, it's now time to collect payment.
Details from the input on the first form would be passed to the form on the second stage. Services provided, add-ons selected. during the second stage, a customer may be asked to sign for items purchased or services provided.
info from stage one may also be used to populate a payment form.

while I would describe it more as the ability to pre-load customer data (from a contact record or previously submitted form) into a form, the idea is the same and very much needed.

You can already do this. When creating a form click Multi Page form in the top right.

A multi-page form won't accomplish the goal since there may be hours/days between "stages". I'd call it more "form linking", but regardless of what we call it, the goal is to pre-load data from a previously submitted form (or the contact record) into the current form.
