While the concept of having a limited number of predefined fields in the contact data base and then adding custom fields to forms which are stored separately does have some interesting advantages, as you move into supporting membership the scenario actually changes.
You now need to have these custom fields in the actual database and then the option to include these in forms and emails etc (like GoHighLevel and various other applications have).
No need to eliminate the current process of how forms work, but just add in functionality to add the same kinds of custom fields as can now be added to a form to be added to the database (contact data).
Then also allow these fields to be used in forms.
Of course these custom fields also need to be easily visible in the contact details UI and potentially added to the contact search criteria and results

Bump.
Custom Values just launched - called Global Variables. This finally gives me hope that custom fields can't be too far away.
Storing info as form submission data isn't ideal.
All we're talking about is mapping form submission data to editable fields in the additional fields part of a contact profile. We can already do this with S1 S2 etc, we just need to be able to rename them and add more of them.

Only if I could upvote this a million times, I would do it. I think there is a need for urgency here. It was planned over 2 years ago and still not approved.

Can we prioritize this feature in order for us to customized based on specific business needs
Ariel Laure
Hi, do we have any updates for the custom fields to be released? It is hard for specific clients to add custom fields especially in real eastate.

Been waiting on the roadmap for 2 years now and planned for over a year...When is FlowTrack going to have a usable CRM?
Ariel Laure
Andy, is there any update on this? I am a new subscriber with FlowTrack and I am stuck with adding custom fields from specific businesses. Most of my clients come from Real Estate and I don't how to custom fields for Parcel Numbers..
Andy Hewerdine
The only way right now is to create a form with all the fields you want to import, then import form submission data via CSV.
That will automatically create the contacts, populate the form data and allow you to view that form submission data in their contsct records.
Andy Hewerdine
I still think the quickest way to implement custom fields is to move form submission data into the Additional details section of the contact and let us filter contacts by form submission data. It's pretty much the same thing and way easier to implement than rewriting the CMS.

FTs entire CMS and database structure needs to change for this to happen.
Their form platform/library (json forms/form.io) has custom field capability, which means it's their database/CMS which lacks functionality. It will be a long time before this functionality comes to FT.
Also, merge fields in the site builder is sorely lacking.

Really excited for this, I was just talking to support about it!

I think that to a reasonable extent, with the ability to now push a contact through a flow and pick up data from not only the contact but also from any of the fields from any of the previously submitted forms (custom fields) related to that contact and then use that data in the flow or any emails/SMS sent from the flow.
It is also possible to pick up the contact fields and the form data fields related to the logged in contact on a membership page.
The new CMS feature (so far a rather vanilla view of the form data) also has a lot of potential once more function is added there (including the ability to create joined views of data from multiple tables and then to be able to search on these views - both in the contact UI and also with an API).

Totally agree. I would add much more predefined fields and let us turn them off if not needed, and allow more custom fields.
Samantha S
Yes please, this is really needed.
Amelia
definitely needed

Custom values/field is a must have.

A CRM without custom field data is a car without an engine. Businesses need custom fields like hub spot or pipedrive have in deals for example, as a repeat customer may have different deals requiring different custom fields in their pipeline, and this need to exist as associated deal data to the contact, not actual data in a contact.

I bought the package thinking it had custom fields... it does but I can't save any custom fields in forms until it's available in the database. I am currently at a standstill because for me to use the FlowTrack like it is, I would need to use another CRM. One for VAs to ask questions from custom fields and Flow Track to track the status of the project. Why would I need FlowTrack if I was already using another CRM? I hope we get conditions as we do in the forms. This way I could assign some custom fields to enable based on the Role and or Current Pipeline status or data from other fields
FlowTrack is useless without the ability to Track my custom data.

This is the one thing stoping me from moving forward with Flow Track. It’s essential for data driven business like insurance. I would also like to see the option to create folders or sections to organize fields.
Robin S
I agree with the last comments 100%.
In fact I would go as far as saying that just about all businesses these days are data driven and that for any such business it is essential that from any interface in the application to be able to access ALL the data related to ALL contacts.
This is all of the UIs, APIs, Flow definitions and run times, email/SMS definitions and run times, web page designer and viewer and anything else that I may have omitted.
For myself, the inability to use all my data for example when executing a flow or creating an email is an absolute show stopper.
Very pleased to see that around July 25, this item moved from Open to Planned. However it really should already be Live or at least In Progress

If I could upvote this a thousand times, I would! This is so foundational for data-driven automation.
